Mission for Orphans Conference in Satu Mare

14/05/2017

On the 14th of May 2017 the Mission for Orphans Foundation organized its third conference. A thematic conference this time, that took place in the city of Satu Mare. With the help of Reverend Sándor Szűcs and Tímea Sípos (organizer) the local Baptist church accommodated this event during the Sunday morning service. A fair number of invitees or their representatives from several counties have attended this ecumenical event.

After the prayer Dr József Kovács, the vice-chairman of the foundation, delivered the message from Isaiah 49:15-16: "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me." (NIV)

A presentation of the Foundation's work followed by János Gere and Lenke Sz. Berei. Dániel Kőszegi, the founder of the organization, greeted the audience, after which foster and adoptive parents shared their experience. The speaker of the event, Dr Rita Pécsi, a Christian educational research scholar, gave a very interesting and topical presentation on emotional intelligence.

The morning program ended with a lunch, after which a panel discussion for a smaller audience took place, moderated by Evódia Budai. Parents and leaders of the Foundation have spoken about the activities, the challenges, and the blessings of the organization's work.

The event was then concluded by Efraim Veress, the chairmann of the Foundation, who encouraged us with a Biblical message.

The next Mission for Orphans conference will follow in the autumn, in the Szeklerland, if we live and God be willing. The recordings of the conference in Satu Mare can be watched HERE, and the event photos here.

We are thankful for everyone's participation, and especially for the exemplary and loving hospitality of the church in Satu Mare. Praise and thanks be given to God for everything!
